Meet Your Southern Ohio Master Electrician
A Trade Built on Doing Things Right
Why We Do What We do
Meet Brandon Slocum
In 2016, Brandon Slocum entered an electrical apprenticeship with Prairie Electric, a commercial construction company based in Ridgefield, Washington. He spent years working on projects across the state under one of the toughest licensing standards in the country, the Washington/Oregon journeyman exam, and that early standard shaped how he's approached every job since.
After moving to Ohio, Brandon set his sights on the highest license an electrician can earn: Master Electrician. Then, driving home from the hospital after the birth of their fourth son, he turned to Katlyn and told her he was ready to start his own business. Between the cost of living, the connections they'd built locally, and the confidence he'd earned over years in the trade, it was time to take the leap.
Brandon has never been one to cut corners. He was raised with a simple standard: whatever you do, do it well, and that mindset shows up in every job Slocum Electric takes on, big or small. As he puts it, anyone can call themselves an electrician, but not everyone is trusted and reliable. That distinction is what he works to earn on every project.
Brandon and Katlyn didn't grow up in Southern Ohio. Both were raised in the Pacific Northwest and met while attending Bible college in the region. What started as a season of good friends and good memories turned into a genuine love for rural Ohio's own kind of beauty, and today the family is excited to raise their four boys right here in Adams, Brown, and Highland Counties.
